CURRICULUMPROJECTS
Symposium

Current:

April 4 + 5, 2024
The program will adapt themes found in the expression and experience of the Mitaka Lofts, designed by Arakawa+Gins, to themes in artificial life and spatial simulation as found in robotics and science fiction.

Past:

April 27 + 28, 2023

The program will explore earthly reference frames for understanding the body in space. Inspired by the work of Shusaku Arakawa and Madeline Gins, we consider the body as a part of its architectural surroundings. Interdisciplinary encounters will suggest shared reconfigurations of spatial and material form: embodiment that can be perceived, non-linear time at different scales and speeds, and ways to question and understand our own sentient volumes.
