The Yale Center for Collaborative Arts and Media (CCAM)’s 2023 Ultra Space Symposium: Arakawa + Gins, will take place on April 27 + 28.

The program will explore earthly reference frames for understanding the body in space. Inspired by the work of Shusaku Arakawa and Madeline Gins, we consider the body as a part of its architectural surroundings. Interdisciplinary encounters will suggest shared reconfigurations of spatial and material form: embodiment that can be perceived, non-linear time at different scales and speeds, and ways to question and understand our own sentient volumes.
